Winning always takes teamwork, but on Saturday Scott Batie stepped things up a notch to give Moriarty the 'W'. Nobody could stop Batie as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Moriarty's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 4-2 (and 4-8 when he doesn't).

Looking ahead, Batie and Moriarty have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Taos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pintos are 7-2 against the Tigers going back to April of 2022, a lead they'll look to extend.
