Baseball Recap: Hopkins County Central Victorious

Hopkins County Central got themselves on the board against Heritage Christian Academy on Thursday, but Heritage Christian Academy never followed suit. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Neilan Bruce, who gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Heritage Christian Academy off the board. Bruce has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gaige Brasher was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He has become a key player for Hopkins County Central: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hopkins County Central's record is now 4-12. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hopkins County Central will host Trigg County at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Christian County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
