Recap: Champion Golden Flashes vs. Crestview Rebels

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Champion Golden Flashes ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Crestview out 55-52. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Champion as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Champion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marky Nolan led the charge by scoring 26 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Nolan has scored at least a third of Champion's points. Another player making a difference was Jake Andreatta, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and five steals.

Crestview's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was justin mckee, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Tanner Guy was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds.

Crestview struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Champion's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Crestview, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Champion will take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Crestview, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Garfield at 7:00 p.m. Garfield is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.3 points per game.
