Basketball Game Preview: Coventry Patriots vs. Windham Whippets

The Coventry Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Windham Whippets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

On January 3rd, Coventry was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-53 to Rockville.

Meanwhile, Windham entered their tilt with Bacon Academy on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 64-55 win over the Bobcats. While the Whippets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Coventry better keep an eye on Malcolm Hunter. He was instrumental in Windham's win, going 8 of 14 en route to 19 points along with five assists and three steals. The match was Hunter's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anden Gonzalez, who posted 18 points.

Windham smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive games.
