Sedgwick County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They blew past the Briggsdale Falcons 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won six in a row.

Sedgwick County's got stronger as the match went on, holding Briggsdale to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-13, 25-12.

Lainee Nein paced Sedgwick County's offense, picking up 17 kills. Nein got some help from Ryen Carlson and her 13 assists. Carlson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Coincidentally, Sedgwick County and Briggsdale will both be playing Haxtun the next time they take the court. The Falcons will head out to face the Fightin' Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
