Basketball Recap: Pueblo County Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

If Pueblo South wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pueblo County, they should've done a better job of containing Rylee Stupnik. The Pueblo County Hornets really took it to the Pueblo South Colts for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-14 victory thanks in part to Stupnik, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 19 boards. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Ashlyn Ortiz was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals. Those 12 points gave her a new career-high.

Pueblo County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.8 points over those games. Pueblo South dropped their record down to 1-22 with the defeat, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

Pueblo County has already played their next match, a 61-28 loss against Pueblo East on the 21st. Pueblo South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
