Soccer Game Preview: Langston Hughes vs. Northgate

Langston Hughes is 0-3 against Northgate since March of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Langston Hughes Panthers will welcome the Northgate Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Langston Hughes has given up an average of 4.2 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Langston Hughes is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Dutchtown, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Northgate put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Brookstone. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Cougars are ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northgate's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Langston Hughes, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Langston Hughes suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Northgate in their previous meeting back in March of 2019. Can Langston Hughes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
