Foley put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the West Florida Jaguars by a score of 57-48. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked seventh in Alabama, while the Jaguars are ranked 75th in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, West Florida saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amani Bartholomew dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shania Beeks, who posted ten points along with five assists and four steals.

Foley pushed their record up to 14-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for West Florida, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Foley Lions take on the Baldwin County Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Florida, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pensacola at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
