Volleyball Recap: Fox Valley Lutheran Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Fox Valley Lutheran couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans on Thursday. It was the first time this season that the Foxes let down their fans at home.

While Fox Valley Lutheran ultimately came up short, they really made Luxemburg-Casco work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-14, 22-25, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Fox Valley Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Riley Schmitz, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Fox Valley Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 28-9. As for Luxemburg-Casco, they pushed their record up to 33-12 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Fox Valley Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Luxemburg-Casco, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Xavier on the 1st.
