Recap: South Effingham Mustangs vs. Grovetown Warriors

This season hasn't been kind to the South Effingham Mustangs, who are still winless after their 15th game. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grovetown on Saturday. South Effingham has struggled against Grovetown recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, South Effingham still got an impressive performance from Chase Seyler, who scored five points along with 15 rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Harris, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.

South Effingham's defeat was their 14th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-15. As for Grovetown, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

South Effingham and Brunswick will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Brunswick has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 22. As for Grovetown, they will head out on the road to square off against Evans at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Evans knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Grovetown likes a good challenge.
