Softball Recap: Burlington Township Takes a Loss

The Burlington Township Falcons didn't have quite enough to beat the Cherry Hill East Cougars on Monday and fell 2-1. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gabby Morgan was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles and one run.

Morgan wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jessie Haws, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Burlington Township's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Cherry Hill East, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Burlington Township will face off against Cinnaminson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cherry Hill East, they will square off against Shawnee at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
