Basketball Recap: Acadiana Christian Takes a Loss

Acadiana Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots 63-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-57 two weeks ago.

When it comes to explaining why Acadiana Christian lost, don't look at Layne Hebert. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points and four steals. Those 14 points gave Hebert a new career-high. Brent Henry was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 10 points and seven boards.

Ian Davis was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 13 en route to 20 points along with seven assists and six rebounds for Christian Home Educators Fellowship. Davis' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Winston Hart, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 12 points and eight boards.

Acadiana Christian now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Christian Home Educators Fellowship, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

As of now, neither Acadiana Christian nor Christian Home Educators Fellowship have any future games scheduled.
