Football Recap: Independence Falls Short of Winterset in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Independence can now relate to. They lost 28-6 to the Winterset Huskies on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Winterset, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winterset, they will venture away from home to square off against Solon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 31 points in their last six contests.
