Baseball Recap: Stagg Wins Going Away Against Chavez

While Stagg put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Chavez. The Delta Kings were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Titans. The victory continues a trend for the Delta Kings in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won eight in a row.

Aelias Guerrero made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cruz Asia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Rocco Rodriguez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Stagg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in three consecutive games.

Stagg's win bumped their record up to 16-8-1. As for Chavez, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Stagg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chavez, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Calaveras at 6:30 p.m. on February 19, 2027.
