Softball Preview: Epping Blue Devils vs. Portsmouth Christian Academy Eagles

Epping is 0-4 against Portsmouth Christian Academy since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Epping Blue Devils will look to defend their home field against the Portsmouth Christian Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Epping will head into Thursday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 12) but two weeks ago they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Raymond 10-8.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Portsmouth Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pittsfield on Tuesday and snuck past 7-5.

Marion Spurr made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Spurr was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
