The River Ridge Royal Knights will head out on the road to take on the Osceola Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
River Ridge will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Wesley Chapel, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Royal Knights were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Wildcats on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Royal Knights, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
River Ridge got a massive performance out of Cameron Kessell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Cox, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Kessell wasn't the only one making solid contact: River Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Osceola came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Pirates as they made off with a 10-4 victory.
Luke Pembleton looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Vincent Ferrell, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Preston Hamelynck also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
River Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Osceola, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. River Ridge has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Osceola struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.5 strikeouts.
