Volleyball Recap: Laguna Beach Breakers vs. Northwood Timberwolves
Laguna Beach lost against Northwood back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Breakers fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 3-2. The Breakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Laguna Beach took Northwood into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-10, 19-25, 25-27, 15-7.
Kai Patchell paced Laguna Beach's offense, picking up 22 kills. Patchell got some help from Ben Goodwin and his 30 assists. Patchell was also solid from the service line: he led the team with seven aces.
Laguna Beach's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Northwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Laguna Beach will face off against St. Margaret's at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tartans will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Breakers surely won't give up without a fight. Northwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
