Collins Made His Presence Known in Northwest Whitfield's 48-21 Victory

Starting off the list is Northwest Whitfield's Cameron Collins, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Collins rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.

Northwest Whitfield's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Collins and Northwest Whitfield will face off against Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Finley Came Up Big in Lafayette's 48-21 Defeat

While Khalas Finley delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for LaFayette. Northwest Whitfield had no answer to Finley as he rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.

LaFayette is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7. Finley will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Gilmer on Friday.

Gavin Nuckolls Makes It Two for Northwest Whitfield

The second Northwest Whitfield player making an appearance here is Gavin Nuckolls, and for good reason. He threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

On the year, Nuckolls has thrown 16 touchdowns (and and only 3 pick) while averaging 165.9 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had ten passing touchdowns.

Heritage Gets a Boost from Bryan in 35-20 Defeat

Heritage had to settle for second on Friday, but Cody Bryan sure wasn't going down easily. Bryan turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up 173 receiving yards.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. Bryan and Heritage will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on LaFayette at 7:30 p.m. on October 18th.

Bryson Donald Rounds Out Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Bryson Donald of Ridgeland. Donald's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Ridgeland's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers faces off against Adairsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
