Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Grove Eagles vs. Franklin Wildcats

For the second straight game, Pleasant Grove will face off against Franklin. The Eagles will host the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Pleasant Grove's offense. They lost 10-0 to Franklin on Tuesday. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

For Franklin's part, Dylan Wood looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Brandon Williams was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Royal McKinney, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Franklin's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasant Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
