Basketball Game Preview: Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks vs. Dighton Hornets

The Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks will face off against the Dighton Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Wheatland-Grinnell is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Logan/Palco just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a 56-21 loss at the hands of Logan/Palco. The game marked the Thunderhawks' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Dighton entered their tilt with Quinter on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 54-41.

Wheatland-Grinnell better keep an eye on Daniel Cramer. He was instrumental in Dighton's win, going 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight assists and six steals. Cramer's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Roemer, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points.

Dighton was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Quinter only racked up 11 assists.

Wheatland-Grinnell now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Dighton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Wheatland-Grinnell took a serious blow against Dighton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 73-22. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wheatland-Grinnell was down 54-6.
