Softball Recap: Lake Norman's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lake Norman lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Bandys, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Lake Norman Wildcats blew past the Bandys Trojans 11-1 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kail Panaccione, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season. Vivian Billard was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Lake Norman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bandys only posted a batting average of .059.

Lake Norman's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bandys, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Lake Norman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 20-4 win against West Cabarrus on the 7th. As for Bandys, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against East Burke on the 7th.
