Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Bloomfield proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 18) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Taos Tigers 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Bloomfield's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elias Munoz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Munoz has posted since back in April of 2024.

Bloomfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taos only posted a batting average of .267.

Bloomfield pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.7 runs. As for Taos, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Bloomfield is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Miyamura at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Miyamura is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 16.2 runs per game this season. As for Taos, they will welcome Bernalillo at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
