Basketball Recap: Madison's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mountain Heritage, Madison was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 39-25 win over the Owen Warhorses. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

When it comes to explaining why Owen lost, don't look at Elly Wright. Despite the final result, she posted nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 36% of Owen's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Hollingsworth, who put up five points in addition to 11 boards and three steals.

Madison's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Owen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will take on Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Owen, they will be playing at home against Draughn at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Draughn has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
