Basketball Recap: High Island Comes Up Short

High Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt an 89-12 defeat at the hands of the Brookeland Wildcats. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-2.

High Island's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Brookeland, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Chester the next time they take the court. Brookeland will head out to face Chester at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025, while High Island will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
