Baseball Game Preview: Mira Costa Mustangs vs. Palos Verdes Sea Kings

The Mira Costa Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Palos Verdes Sea Kings at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Mira Costa will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Mira Costa barely beat Loyola the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs never let the Cubs get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Mustangs have won eight matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Palos Verdes beat San Pedro 5-0 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sea Kings.

Greyden Rudy looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Tyler Kaercher was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Mira Costa's record now sits at 16-2. As for Palos Verdes, their record is now 9-13.

Mira Costa was able to grind out a solid win over Palos Verdes in their previous matchup back in March, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
