Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Road Victories for Moore Catholic

Moore Catholic saw some tournament action on Sunday. They walked away with a 51-40 win over the Colonie Central Raiders. The 51-point effort marked the Mavericks' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Moore Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brianna Caliri led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 boards. With that strong performance, Caliri is now averaging an impressive 8.6 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Felci, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds.

Moore Catholic's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Colonie Central, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moore Catholic will face off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 12:35 p.m. on January 5th. As for Colonie Central, they will be playing at home against Bethlehem Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th.
