Basketball Game Preview: Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones vs. Webster Bearcats

The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones will square off against the Webster Bearcats at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Clark/Willow Lake is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Groton, who was ranked 11th at the time (Clark/Willow Lake was ranked 21st). Clark/Willow Lake fell just short of Groton by a score of 32-30 on Thursday. The game marked the Cyclones' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Webster took on Deuel on Thursday. Webster took down Deuel 47-29. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bearcats.

Webster pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Clark/Willow Lake, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Clark/Willow Lake was able to grind out a solid victory over Webster in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 52-40. Will Clark/Willow Lake repeat their success, or does Webster have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
