Platteview is 0-7 against Mercy since April of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Monarchs at 4:15 p.m. Platteview is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 6.2 goals per game this season.

Platteview's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Ralston 9-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Platteview.

Their offense was hitting Ralston from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Nala Hobbs led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Mercy faced Skutt Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Monarchs fell just short of the SkyHawks by a score of 3-2. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Mercy couldn't quite close it out.

Platteview pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those three games. As for Mercy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Platteview might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Mercy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
