Basketball Recap: Gaston Christian Starts off Right with Win over Carolina Basketball Academy

Gaston Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past the Carolina Basketball Academy Tigers 73-44. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Eagles just coasted through the last quarter.

Jaishawn Woods had an outrageously good game as he went 6-for-12 en route to 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Brayden Milner was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Gaston Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Coming up, Gaston Christian will face off against Greensboro Day School at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carolina Basketball Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Quality Education Academy on Tuesday.
