Baseball Game Preview: Monument Mountain Spartans vs. Mount Everett Regional Eagles

Monument Mountain has gone 8-2 against Mount Everett Regional recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Mount Everett Regional took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Monument Mountain, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Monument Mountain made easy work of Amherst-Pelham Regional and carried off a 22-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Mount Everett Regional finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 10-1 to Pittsfield. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this game were averaging 2.75 runs allowed.

Mount Everett Regional saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brodie Kinna, who went 2-for-4 with one double. That double marked the first that Kinna hit this season.

The victory got Monument Mountain back to even at 1-1. As for Mount Everett Regional, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Everything went Monument Mountain's way against Mount Everett Regional when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Monument Mountain made off with a 17-0 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
