Baseball Recap: Hillhouse Triumphs

Hillhouse won the last time they faced Wilbur Cross and things went their way on Monday too. The Academics came out on top against the Governors by a score of 9-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Academics.

Alex Coca looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Terrance Harris, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Ricardo Turner was another key player, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Hillhouse's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Wilbur Cross, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillhouse will host Guilford at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Academics are facing the Grizzlies at the right time seeing as the Grizzlies are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Wilbur Cross, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Lyman Hall at 3:45 p.m. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Governors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
