Football Recap: Brooks Comes Up Short

Brooks extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Simeon Wolverines 62-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Wolverines are ranked 149th).

Simeon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. They haven't had any issues with Brooks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Anthony Croom Jr. was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 187 yards and four touchdowns on perfect 7-for-7 passing, and also rushed for 44 yards and one TD. Lovell Smith was another key player, rushing for 85 yards and one score on only five carries.
