Softball Recap: Homestead Mustangs vs. Lynbrook Vikings
Homestead won the last time they faced Lynbrook and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the Homestead Mustangs' way against the Lynbrook Vikings as the Homestead Mustangs made off with a 22-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Lilly Markines and Mackenzie Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Markines struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Smith pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Markines a new career-high. At the plate, Markines scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Smith scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
