Basketball Recap: Lenox Comes Up Short

Lenox lost against Mount Ayr back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lenox Tigers received a blow as they fell 64-50 to the Mount Ayr Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Raiders are ranked 101st).

This is the second loss in a row for Lenox and nudges their season record down to 8-14. As for Mount Ayr, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Lenox does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Ayr, they will face off against East Mills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mount Ayr knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully East Mills likes a good challenge.
