Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Tomas

Tomas waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Alief Taylor Lions as they made off with a 9-1 win.

Sam Johnson was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Tomas is 3-1 when Johnson posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Bubba Moses was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Tomas' victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Alief Taylor, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Tomas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-4 win against Alief Hastings on the 6th. As for Alief Taylor, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Mayde Creek at 10:30 a.m. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.42 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
