Baseball Game Preview: Jackson County Central Huskies vs. Windom Eagles

Jackson County Central is 1-9 against Windom since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Huskies will welcome the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Jackson County Central's offense. They came up short against Luverne on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Huskies were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Windom also failed to score in their most recent game. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pipestone on Tuesday.

Windom saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Soren Nielson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double was Nielson's first of the season.

Windom has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Jackson County Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
