Softball Recap: California City Takes a Loss

If California City was riding high fresh off their 18-2 takedown of Boron last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. California City lost 17-3 to the Liberty Patriots on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 back in February.

California City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Ibarra, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

With the defeat, California City broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-6. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

California City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-6 win against East Bakersfield on the 27th. Liberty has also already played their next game (against Barstow), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
