Baseball Recap: St. Michaels Comes Up Short

St. Michaels entered their matchup against Kent Island on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Saints fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 5-4. The contest marked the Saints' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

St. Michaels saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Grow, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

St. Michaels' defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Kent Island, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Looking ahead, St. Michaels will venture away from home to take on Easton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Kent Island, they will host Sussex Tech at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Ravens will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Buccaneers surely won't give up without a fight.
