Baseball Game Preview: Clarendon Broncos vs. Quanah Indians

Clarendon is a perfect 5-0 against Quanah since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Broncos will square off against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Clarendon has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, Clarendon didn't have quite enough to beat Wellington and fell 6-4. That's two games in a row now that the Broncos have lost by exactly two runs.

Clarendon got a good showing from Parker Haynes, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Haynes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mason Sims was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Clarendon: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mason Allred, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Quanah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against Memphis, falling 14-2.

Clarendon's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-10. As for Quanah, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Clarendon came out on top in a nail-biter against Quanah in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 11-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
