Football Game Preview: La Sierra Eagles vs. Norte Vista Braves

La Sierra is 0-10 against Norte Vista since October of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Braves at 7:00 p.m. La Sierra has given up an average of 29.7 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Saturday, La Sierra had to suffer through a 56-14 loss at the hands of Patriot. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 794th, while the Warriors are ranked 277th).

Despite the loss, La Sierra saw an underclassman step up: freshman Steven Moore threw for 310 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt. The Eagles are 2-1 when Moore posts 250 or more passing yards, but 1-5 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Norte Vista was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Rubidoux 45-8. Considering the Braves have won three contests by more than 36 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Norte Vista and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.5 points over those games. As for La Sierra, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

La Sierra took a serious blow against Norte Vista when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 41-7. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Eagles were down 34-7.
