Basketball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty was the 64-63 winner over Orange Vista when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Liberty Bison lost to the Orange Vista Coyotes at home by a 73-59 margin on Thursday.

Orange Vista's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eric Wooten, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Wooten is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Suttle, who posted 12 points in addition to six assists and four steals.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Orange Vista, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Liberty won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Palm Springs at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Palm Springs will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Liberty surely won't give up without a fight. As for Orange Vista, they will be taking part in a tournament against Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
