Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Oak Hill's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Oak Hill won the last time they faced Avoyelles Charter and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rams came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vikings, sneaking past 12-10.

Sadie Fredieu and Joslyn Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Fredieu went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI, while Johnson scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Those three runs gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madee Danzy, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Oak Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Avoyelles Charter only managed seven hits.

Oak Hill is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Avoyelles Charter, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Hill will face off against Grant at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Avoyelles Charter, they are taking a road trip to challenge Peabody at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
