Softball Recap: Mission Find Success

Mission's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Cigarroa Toros by a score of 14-9. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Toros: they've now won six in a row.

Daniela Perez made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Perez was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Maddie Garcia was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Breanna Longoria was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Mission hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 9-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Mission's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Cigarroa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Mission wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-2 loss against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial on the 23rd. Cigarroa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
