Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Notre Dame Comes Up Short

If St. Joseph Notre Dame was riding high fresh off their 80-58 takedown of Branham last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots'2024 ended with a 64-50 defeat against the Oakland Wildcats on Friday. The Pilots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.

Oakland found their leader in sophomore Johnathan Crawford, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rohm Neal, who posted 14 points.

St. Joseph Notre Dame dropped their record down to 9-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Oakland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

St. Joseph Notre Dame didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-63 win against Menomonee Falls on the 28th. As for Oakland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-43 victory against Palo Alto on the 28th.
