Preview: Mountain Empire Redhawks vs. Bayfront Charter Sharks
Having just played yesterday, the Mountain Empire Redhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Bayfront Charter Sharks at 4:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Mountain Empire focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
Even though Mountain Empire has not done well against Health Sciences recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Mountain Empire walked away with a 58-51 win over Health Sciences. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mountain Empire.
Corey Vann was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 35 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Sepulveda, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Bayfront Charter's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against O'Farrell Charter, falling 65-29. Bayfront Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-11.
Mountain Empire has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Bayfront Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
