Basketball Recap: Davis Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Davis was the 68-45 winner over Syracuse when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Davis Darts took a 38-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Syracuse Titans on Friday. The matchup marked the Darts' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Davis lost, don't look at T'Maea Eteuati. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kate Willard, who earned four points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

It was another big night for Maylee Anderson, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 19 points and seven boards for Syracuse. Anderson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Olivia Sorenson was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Davis' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Syracuse, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Davis has already played their next game (against Farmington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Syracuse will face off against Fremont at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Fremont will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Syracuse surely won't give up without a fight.
