Baseball Game Preview: Carlynton Cougars vs. Apollo Ridge Vikings

For the second straight game, Carlynton will face off against Apollo Ridge. The Cougars will square off against the Vikings at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Carlynton has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 20.

Carlynton came up short against Apollo Ridge on Tuesday, falling 12-2.

For Apollo Ridge's part, the team relied heavily on Alex Clawson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Clawson a new career-high. Parker Gourley also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Apollo Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Apollo Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Carlynton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
