Baseball Recap: Windsor Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Windsor had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Pueblo County Hornets with a sharp 8-2 victory on Friday. The Wizards might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Mason Jordan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ethan Fillinger, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Teegan Cole was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

The win (which was Windsor's sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Pueblo County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 18 games and leaves them with a 24-3 record.

Windsor has already played their next match, a 12-11 loss against Golden on the 24th. As for Pueblo County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-2 defeat against Cheyenne Mountain on the 24th.
