Recap: Pearl Pirates vs. Neshoba Central Rockets
The Pearl Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-40 walloping at the hands of Neshoba Central. Pearl has not had much luck with Neshoba Central recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Neshoba Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lanayah Henry, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Zharia Leflore, who scored 14 points.
Pearl has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Neshoba Central, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Pearl will head out on the road to face off against Brookhaven at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Neshoba Central, they will take on Theodore at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Theodore will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 104th in Alabama, while Neshoba Central is ranked seventh in Mississippi).
