Baseball Recap: Cortez Comes Up Short

Cortez lost against Shadow Mountain last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cortez Colts came up short against the Shadow Mountain Matadors, falling 16-4.

Aeryk Snyder made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Andre Shepard was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Cortez's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Shadow Mountain, the victory got them back to even at 2-2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cortez will square off against Goldwater at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Cortez has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Shadow Mountain, they will take on Agua Fria at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Agua Fria has lost four straight at home , while Shadow Mountain has lost eight on the road (dating back to last season).
